ALBAWABA - Controversial Republican candidate, Valentina Gomez, recently sparked backlash after sharing a video on social media burning the Quran using a flamethrower, calling Muslims "terrorists" and the US a "Christian nation."
Gomez, who is running for the U.S. House of Representatives from Texas's 31st district, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared the video in question, garnering over two million views.
Just before setting the Quran on fire using a flamethrower, Valentina Gomez said, "Your daughter will be raped and sons beheaded unless we stop Islam once and for all."
She added, "America is a Christian nation... so these terrorist Muslims can f*ck off to any of the 57 Muslim nations. There's only one true God, and that is the God of Israel," then continued burning the Quran.

Gomez wrote in the video's caption, "I will end islam in Texas so help me God. muslims are raping & killing their way to take over CHRISTIAN nations. Help me get to Congress so you never have to bow down to their stupid rock."
In response to the video, an X user wrote, "Please don't bring your holy wars over here, we are free to practice religion if we follow the law, we don't have to shove religion down anyone's throat."
Another wrote, "The god of what...? Literally every single time."
During her time as a politician, Gomez has always voiced her strong and opposing stance on Islam. In May, the MAGA candidate sparked anger and panic after storming a Muslim event in Texas while shouting offensive Islamophobic hate speech.
Gomez infiltrated the event wearing a hijab, but took it off moments before getting on the podium to shout the offensive hate speech.
Similar to burning the Quran, the Republican candidate posted the footage on X with the caption, "Islam has no place in Texas. Help me to Congress so we can end the Islamization of America. I only fear God."
