ALBAWABA - A small village in South India named Thulasendrapuram made headlines once again after news circulated that they are praying for Kamala Harris' victory in the 2024 US elections against former president and current Republican candidate, Donald Trump.
According to Arab News, an Indian Hindu priest took to the village in question while holding a flame for a god, as other individuals joined him in Sanskrit and Tamil hymns to pray for current vice president and Democrat candidate Kamala Harris.

The village is partaking in the praying event due to Harris having ancestral roots to it since she was born to an Indian mother and a Jamaican father. Banners and billboards of Harris filled Thulasendrapuram as villagers are said to talk about her in tea shops.
Arab News added that Harris' maternal grandfather was born in the village but then moved to a nearby city called Chennai, to become a high-ranking governmental official. It's claimed that Harris never visited the village in question but people residing there still celebrate her family's immigration to the U.S.
Kamala Harris did visit India though but during her childhood the most because of her late Indian mother, Shyamala Gopalan.
One user wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), "I must convey that the villagers I met are so proud of your journey, your success, grit and your story as an individual. The priest of the temple fondly remembers grandfather P. Gopalan."
