ALBAWABA - Social media users have been allegedly claiming that the nephew of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was captured by Hamas fighters.

Rumors have been circulating online claiming that Netanyahu's nephew "Yacoub" is among the hostages who were captured by Al-Qassam Brigades.

Netizens posted a video of the Israeli Prime Minister speaking during a meeting and allegedly claimed that Netanyahu was "admitting" the arrest of his nephew "Yacoub".

An X (formerly known as Twitter) user posted: "Netanyahu admits that his nephew, “Yacoub,” is among the occupation prisoners held by the resistance in Gaza. Yacoub was also the driver for his private office!"

However, no official statement has been released by Israeli authorities confirming the allegations that Netanyahu's nephew is being held by the Palestinian resistance group.

Furthermore, the Hamas group has not shared any information about the alleged held of Netanyahu's nephew or any of the Israeli prime minister's relatives.

The Israeli military revealed earlier the Hamas military group is believed to have captured over 200 hostages during the Al-Quqs operation on Oct. 7.

At least 4,651 Palestinians were killed in Israeli assaults on the Gaza Strip with 1,873 children and 1,023 women among the deaths, the Ministry of Health in Gaza said.

Moreover, the number of injured has risen to 14,245, Ashraf Qudra, a ministry spokesman said in a statement on Sunday.
