ALBAWABA - An opera show at a German theatre in Stuttgart City has caused shock on social media raising many questions about the hidden message behind it.

According to social media users and some activists, the show caused anger because of the contempt it contained for religions and sexual practices.

In addition, some of the attendees fainted while others were seen vomiting due as the performance contained real blood mixed with a fake one.

At least 18 people were given treatment for severe nausea after they watched the show which contained "live piercing, unsimulated sexual intercourse and copious amounts of fake and real blood," The Guardian reported on Oct. 10.

Opera’s spokesperson Sebastian Ebling said: "On Saturday we had eight and on Sunday we had 10 people who had to be looked after by our visitor service."

The show named "Sancta" was designed by Austrian choreographer Florentina Holzinger. Her cast, which consists of females only, usually performs partially or fully naked. Many activists slammed the show calling it a disturbing one.

However, this was not the only show that caused panic among attendance, her earlier shows included live sword-swallowing, tattooing, masturbation as well as action paintings with blood and fresh excrement.

Nonetheless, the show also contained some religious songs while people were singing almost naked. A person posted a video and wrote: "A song for Jesus Christ Superstar René Pollesch from yesterday's farewell revue at the ⁦Volksbuehne⁩ - performed by the Florentina Holzinger ensemble."
