ALBAWABA - On early Saturday, the Israeli army carried out an attack on Iran in a retaliation attack to Tehran's missile strike on Israel on October 1.

Iran earlier this month launched a missile attack against multiple positions across Israel in a revenge attack against the killings of IRGC General Abbas Nilforushan, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

Since the start of the war in Gaza, the Israeli military has targeted multiple leaders in Hamas and Hezbollah including top generals; Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr, Hamas leader Saleh al-Arouri, Ali Karaki, the commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front, and Hezbollah leader Ibrahim Aqil.

What are Iran's losses in the Israeli strike?

Israel struck military sites in Iran early Saturday in three waves of attack on missile manufacturing facilities and other sites.

Till this moment there are no exact assessments regarding the extent of Iranian losses, given that Tehran often keeps secret what is happening inside the country.

However, Israeli jets targeted nearly 20 military installations, including air defense batteries, radar stations and missile production sites, according to New York Times report which cited Israeli officials.

Associated Press (AP) reported that after reviewing satellite images, some facilities at a secretive military base located southeast of Tehran were damaged in the Israeli October 26 attack. The American website also confirmed that a few buildings in Iran’s Parchin military base were also affected and damaged.

Nonetheless, AP also added that the Khojir military base, where experts say that an underground tunnel system and missile production sites are located below, was reportedly damaged as seen by satellite images.

Iran confirmed via official state media that four Iranian soldiers, who are members of the country’s air defense systems, were killed in the Israeli attack.
