ALBAWABA - A post made by former Prime Minister of Israel Naftali Bennett has sparked wide controversy on social media on Monday.
Naftali Bennett, an Israeli politician and businessman, posted an anonymous countdown on his X profile, causing a wave of discussions and speculations over what it hints at.
He posted the 30-second video on X, where he is followed by over 668,000 people, and wrote the caption: "Tik, Tak. Tonight."
Many activists on social media allegedly said that Israel would attack Iran tonight, while others said that the United States could carry out strikes in Tehran after President Donald Trump's warning to the Iranian government not to kill protesters.
A person commented, "Naftali, you are giving the ayatollahs in Iran a heart attack even before any strike." Another said, "If you are truly concerned about the existence of Israel and the Iranian people, support Benjamin Netanyahu. The Iranian people are aware and alert!"
It is worth mentioning that Iranians have staged demonstrations against the economic situation in the country and the country's deteriorating currency. At least 19 protesters and one security force member have been killed in the protests, which continued for eight consecutive days.
In addition, President Trump has warned that the U.S. will intervene in Iran if its government kills protesters.
Nonetheless, 6 days ago, Trump suggested the U.S. might take military action if Iran restarts its nuclear program. In contrast, the Iranian president warned of a serious response if Tehran is targeted. This comes after Trump's suggestion last Monday that Tehran may be restoring its nuclear programs despite the U.S. attack in June 2025. Iran denies it has a nuclear weapons program, Reuters reported.
