The Israeli Prime Minister office on Tuesday denied a report that during his recent visit to Egypt Benjamin Netanyahu presented Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak a map showing the conception of a permanent settlement and the borders of a Palestinian state. The Arabic Asharq alawsat newspaper earlier quoted an Israeli source as saying Netanyahu showed Mubarak a map with the future borders of the Palestinian state. According to this report, Mubarak said the proposed map was far from the Palestinian and Arab demands for a state within the 1967 borders.
The Israeli source added: "President Mubarak did not accept this map and advised (Netanyahu) to adjust it in accordance with the Arab demands."
Netanyahu's office said this report about the map was "baseless."
