Progress in indirect peace negotiations launched earlier this month depends on Israel, Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas said during an official visit to Vietnam on Tuesday. "We hope that we will achieve progress. It depends on the Israelis," Abbas was quoted as saying by AFP after talks with Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet.
Abbas said in an interview with France 24 television late Monday that he intends to visit Washington, next month, to try to advance the peace process.
