Port Rashid cruise terminal welcomes its first vessel captained by a woman

Port Rashid, the state-of-the-art cruise terminal operated by global port operator DP World, gave a red carpet reception recently to the P&O liner CS Artemis and its Captain, Sarah Breton, the first lady master to lead a cruise vessel to the UAE’s shores. 

The Captain, her 600-member crew and passengers were welcomed ceremonially by Dirk Van Den Bosch, Chief Operating Officer, DP World UAE Region, and Hamad Bin Mejren, Executive Director, Business Tourism, Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in the presence of Hamad Saif Khamis, Operations In-charge – Security Department at Port, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, and George Varghese, General Manager – Commercial, Rais Hasan Saadi Group.
