Prometric and AMIDEAST partner to open a professional test center in Tunisia

Prometric, the leading provider of testing and assessment services, today announced that it has teamed up with AMIDEAST to open a new Professional Testing Center in Tunisia that will offer academic and professional credentialing exams for the first time.
The test center, which is the first of its kind in the country to support exams other than IT certifications, will provide a convenient new testing location for Tunisian test takers who previously had to travel in order to test. Managed by AMIDEAST, who has provided testing services in Tunisia for more than 30 years, the test center opened for business in December and offers well known and popular exams such as the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and many others offered by Prometric clients.
The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) in Qatar, also a Prometric client, is looking to recruit Tunisian professionals, so the test center opening allows candidates to sit for exams in Tunisia for SCH tests developed and delivered by Prometric.
“We are close to Tunisia, culturally and otherwise; hence we are pleased that the test center opening makes it even easier for Tunisians to conveniently test and join our healthcare institutions,” said Dr. Jamal Rashid Khanji, the SCH director of medical licensing department and acting director of health quality management department. “Our partnership with Prometric helps to make our exams widely accessible to all potential test takers around the world and ensures that the health practitioners we employ are well qualified.”
“For many years, AMIDEAST has provided educational and training certification opportunities for individuals in Tunisia and the Middle East,” said Ambassador Theodore H. Kattouf, president and chief executive officer, AMIDEAST. “This Prometric center is a valuable addition to the 24 country and project offices we already have and reinforces AMIDEAST’s commitment to the region. We are delighted to be able to further assist the Tunisians, Prometric and its clients in achieving their commendable objectives in making testing more widely accessible in this country.”
“Our strong partnership with AMIDEAST has allowed us to open the doors to a new test center that will give test takers in Tunisia first time in-country access to a number of professional exams,” said Charles Kernan, chief operating officer, Prometric. “We are happy to see our partnership with AMIDEAST strengthening further as we add more clients in the Middle East and help our other non-Middle Eastern clients expand their presence in this region.”
