GCAA opens a new airway M600 connecting UAE with Bahrain

In a move aimed at reducing traffic congestion and ease Air Traffic handling between UAE and Bahrain, the General Civil Aviation Authority of the UAE (GCAA) announced the opening of a New Airway “M600” connecting UAE with Bahrain.
Saif Mohamed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, stated in this occasion that “The Airway’s initial phase would be to facilitate traffic landing within the Bahrain FIR which serves five (5) airports. This Airway would reduce traffic congestion, controller and pilot workload and enhance airspace capacity which will improve Air Traffic Safety between both States”.
He continued: “The rapid growth and development of Civil Aviation Industry and air traffic movements between UAE and Bahrain was the main reason for the opening of M600”.
The UAE GCAA is continuously working closely with its strategic partners to improve Airspace safety and capacity.

General Civil Aviation Authority
The General Civil Aviation Authority was created in 1996 by Federal Cabinet Decree (Law 4) to regulate Civil Aviation and provide designated aviation services with observance to the safety and security to strengthen the aviation industry within the UAE and its upper space.
