She loves her some Syria, no doubt about that, but Sulaf Fawkherji says she is not getting paid to speak up so loudly for President Assad. She's gone to great length to affirm her country's government, but she assures she is a woman of her opinion and does not need to be bought out or paid for her duties as a loyal Syrian citizen.

According to Sayidaty.net, Sulaf shared in an interview with the radio station Al Madina FM that she lost many contracts and money due to her support of the Syrian government but stressed that it did not bother her.

Sulaf said, “I am fine as long as I am in Syria, and I want a future for my children that is safe. All the money in the world could not suffice if I live in fear.”

The outspoken starlet called on Syrian drama to maintain its independence and identity, regardless of any circumstance or political condition, because it was successful in influencing generations for many years. She added that the dramas and films that are being filmed inside Syria despite the unstable conditions are more genuine, and it saddens her that many producers and directors are choosing filming locations outside of the war-torn nation because they feel it is too dangerous.

At the end of her radio interview, Sulaf pleaded to all Syrians who had fled the country since the outbreak of the revolution to return home and not take sides of being with or against the government but rather work together to rebuild Syria.
