SEHA initiates Summer Training Program for 300 UAE Nationals

SEHA initiates its Summer Training Program for 300 UAE Nationals in line with the company’s strategy to support its Emiratization goals and create work opportunities for locals looking to develop a career in the field of healthcare.
SEHA is offering these exciting training opportunities for Emirati students as part of its summer employment program. The training periods are from one or two months, according to what the trainee prefers. The view of SEHA is that these opportunities are a way to nurture talent while encouraging those with a budding interest in the healthcare sector to explore the possibilities.
Mr. Mohammad Al Qemzi, the Acting HR Manager for SEHA said, “Our initiative is an important part of our corporate social responsibility program to promote Emiratization and to support students and graduates as they pursue future careers. We are offering a variety of training programs that help local citizens develop their skills and enhance their knowledge of not only the healthcare field but to develop skills transferable to other fields as well.”
The program offers students exposure to the professional atmosphere within a healthcare company with the practical experience in SEHA’s many different hospitals and clinics around the emirate of Abu Dhabi. These opportunities also include 20 vacancies for special needs students.

Our commitment to UAE students helps us in build a talent pool that will take active interest in a career in the healthcare sector and help build the Emirati workforce we need to grow and serve the public. By keeping our community healthy, we are giving Emirati youth a challenge to help us achieve our goals in our recruitment drive, “Let’s Keep Abu Dhabi Smiling”.
SEHA is owner and operator of all the public hospital and clinics of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Its integrated network includes 12 hospitals and 62 ambulatory, family and primary care clinics and two blood banks. The network includes the dialysis units at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Corniche, Tawam, Mafraq, Al Rahba, Al Ain, Liwa and Madinat Zayed Hospitals. SEHA is currently in the process of building another larger dialysis facility near Mafraq Hospital that will provide care for up to 264 more patients.

SEHA is the corporate marketing name of Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, an independent public joint stock company that owns and operates all public hospitals and clinics across the emirate. ‘SEHA’ is a phonetic rendering of the Arabic word for health.
The company was established by Emiri Decree No 10 of 2007 and is a leading participant in the reform of Abu Dhabi’s healthcare sector. The reform seeks to upgrade and improve healthcare delivery to the public at a level comparable to the finest healthcare systems in the world. The program began by separating management and regulation – SEHA assumed responsibility for public healthcare centers and hospitals, while Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HA-AD) was established to regulate the public and private sectors. The two organizations replaced the General Authority for Health Services (GAHS), previously responsible for both roles.
