Shoppers at BurJuman will be treated to a celebration of the colourful wares and spicy scents and flavors of the Maghreb as sections of the popular mall gets transformed into a Moroccan medina for 20 days.

From May 19 – June 7, BurJuman will host a special Moroccan exhibition for a second year in a row, bringing together a wide range of Moroccan specialties and celebrating the joie de vivre of the North African nation.

Shoppers can enjoy an authentic taste of Morocco at the Moroccan Café in the South Village, while relaxing in a specially constructed majlis or in a regular café setting.

Those hoping for a refreshing cup of Morocco’s famed mint tea, can head to the Tea Oasis at the Observatory, where they will also have the opportunity to listen to the delicate, lilting strains of a live oud player. Weekend visitors will be treated to live performances by a Moroccan band playing traditional music while roaming through the mall.

Special tents will be constructed all across the mall, in both the North and South Village, selling a wide range of Moroccan items, such as sweets, home ware – including Moroccan furniture and artefacts ranging from tables, mirrors, sofas and fountains, colourful ceramic ware and geometric tiles, aromatic spices and herbs, mkebs, henna and clothing.

Mall visitors will also be able to select from more than 30 traditional Moroccan water features and fountains displayed throughout the corridors of the North Village and South Village during the entire exhibition period.
