10 Innovative COVID-19 Campaigns

In this time of crisis, branding and marketing have also been responsive to the current media trends; switching gears to focus on spreading awareness on protection and safety measures to help reduce the impact of COVID-19.  Some companies went further to adjusting their brands in such a creative way and here are some examples.

2. The World Health Organization (WHO) posted a photo of a brain made from pieces of soaps with the phrase: “Use it- wash your hands frequently” referring to the importance of being rational at this time by washing hands to stop the spread of COVID-19.

3. McDonald’s posted an ad that shows their famous M yellow sign split into two referring to social distancing.

4. Jeep

4. Jeep: Using a slogan that says “It’s time to explore the great indoor”, Jeep has been posting ads encouraging people to stay off-road and enjoy staying indoors.

5. Netflix shared an ad that says “The only place where you can see F.R.I.E.N.D.S and #stayhome”. It’s obvious that the streaming giant played on the word “Friends” as people are recommended to stay home and avoid seeing their friends to keep social distancing.

6. Nando's: KFC has published an ad from the pre-corona era that read “it’s finger lickin’ good”. So Nando’s snapped back at KFC with their new COVID-19 slogan: “Turns out finger licking isn’t good, reach out for the soap instead”.

7. Spotify: The International music service provider urges people to “Spread Music, not COVID-19”.

8. Nike promoted social distancing and “playing inside” while staying home, and how this act is what millions around the world need the most.

9. IKEA, the Swedish furniture and home appliances empire, encouraged people to stay home by posting an ad that says “Stay home” with a sense of humor, showing that all you need now during this critical period is to lock yourself home with 100 toilet paper rolls.
