Chefchaouen, Morocco: it’s all blue. In every direction, there’s just more blue. Dark blue, light blue. Vibrant blue, dull blue. It’s what draws visitors here in the first place.
The old medina of Chefchaouen is not large but it’s the kind of place where you’re happy to walk the same streets over and over again. The colour makes everything feel crisp and clean.
Powder blue, cyan, robin’s-egg, indigo, cobalt, azure, periwinkle—it’s painted in an endless array of shades. The shades of blue color are supposed to ward off mosquitoes. Chefchaouen is a favourite tourist destination. The local people of the area are known for their friendliness and hospitality.
