Europe Gets Into The Holiday Spirit of Christmas

Published November 25th, 2019 - 07:51 GMT

There’s something truly magical about Christmas markets — especially when they’re located in a picture-perfect old town of a European city.

The most charming Christmas markets in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Romania and many more, have just been setting up their most beautiful wooden chalets and Christmas decorations. Craftsmen are selling exquisite handmade Christmas items, others are cooking gingerbread, serving warm mulled wine or knitting woolen sweaters, hats and scarves to keep you warm as you stroll around the Christmas markets.

There's nothing in the world quite like the holiday season. Half-timbered houses all decked out for the holidays, stately cathedrals iced with snow, the old market squares twinkling in the winter evenings...not to mention the pastries such as spicy gingerbread cookies accompanied by mulled wine. Everyone participates and the towns and cities take on a fairy-tale-like glow and twinkle.
