Pakistanis Can no Longer Ignore Climate Change

Do Pakistanis care about the ongoing climate crisis? Yes the do because they can no longer ignore the impact of changing weather systems on their lives.

A citizen-led initiative of a "climate march" organized by Climate Action Now, is being held across Pakistan, marking the climate strikes in other countries to help stop global warming.

More than 26 cities and towns are taking part in the march all over the country. Demonstrations are inspired by teenage Swedish activist Greta Thunberg.

Across the country, the effects of climate change and environmental degradation are hitting communities hard. A shortage of water is being deeply felt by both urban and farming populations.

Thousands of students in school uniform and youngsters marched across Pakistan take part in what is being termed as the largest climate protest in history. They demand the government take urgent action to tackle the climate crisis and prevent an environmental catastrophe.
