The Richest and Poorest Arab Countries in 2021

According to recent data released by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), these are the Arab countries from the richest to the poorest.

It should be noted that the list did not mention any data related to Syria, Somalia, Palestine and Lebanon.

1.  Qatar

1. Qatar: Qatar came in the first place as the richest Arab country with a GDP per capita of 96.1 thousand.

2. United Arab Emirates

2. United Arab Emirates: UAE came in second place with a GDP per capita of 58.77 thousand.

3. Bahrain

3. Bahrain: Bahrain emerged in third place this year with GDP per capita of 50.26 thousand.

4. Saudi Arabia

4. Saudi Arabia: The Kingdom ranked fourth among the richest Arab countries, with a GDP per capita of 47.8 thousand.

5. Kuwait

5.Kuwait: It is the fifth richest Arab country, with a GDP per capita of 41.77 thousand.

6. Sultanate of Oman

6. The Sultanate of Oman: Oman is the poorest among the GCC countries with a total GDP per capita of 29.51 thousand.

7. Egypt

7. Egypt: The land of the Pharaohs came in the seventh place with a GDP per capita of 13.06 thousand.

8. Algeria

8. Algeria: Algeria ranked in the eighth place with a GDP per capita of 11.44 thousand.

9. Tunisia

9. Tunisia: the country that sparked the Arab Spring in 2011 ranked 9th with a GDP per capita of 10.92 thousands

10. Iraq

10. Iraq: Iraq came in the 10th position with a GDP per capita of 10.61 thousand.

11. Jordan

11. Jordan: Jordan ranked eleventh among the Arab countries with a GDP per capita of 10.46 thousand.

12. Libya

12. Libya: Libya ranked twelfth among Arab countries with a GDP per capita of 8.45 thousand.

13. Morocco

13. Morocco: The GDP per capita this year was 8.08 thousand in Morocco.

14. Mauritania

14. Mauritania: It is one of the poorest Arab countries, but it witnessed a slight increase in its GDP per capita this year reaching 5.91 thousand.

15. Djibouti

15. Djibouti: This African country is considered one of the poorest in the Arab countries, with a GDP per capita of 4.5 thousand this year.

16. Sudan

16. Sudan: Sudan suffers from critical political conditions that affected its economy. Its GDP per capita this year declined to 3.76 thousand.

17. Comoros

17. Comoros: It is one of the poorest Arab countries, but this year the African country witnessed an improvement in its GDP per capita, reaching 3.09 thousand.

18. Yemen
