US capitol announced a state of emergency till end of President Donald Trump's time in office on Jan. 20 after pro-Trump protesters broke into the congress building, according to Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.
US police revealed that 4 people were killed on or near the US Capitol as President's supporters rioted and besieged the federal legislature while at least 52 people were arrested.
Ahead of the unrest, the US Congress had reconvened on Wednesday evening to count Electoral College votes, as it voted to reject objection to Arizona and Pennsylvania ones.
Trump's Facebook and Twitter counts were blocked ahead of the violent incidents as president-elect Joe Biden urged Donald to "step up" and appear on national television to put an end to the violent protests.
