Victory Day: Russia Marks The Defeat of Nazi Germany After WWII

Russia marks Victory Day with special parades as it celebrates its 1945 victory over Nazi Germany during World War II along with a show of military might.

Military vehicles headed towards Red Square in Moscow while thousands of troops participated in the event.

During the Victory Day celebration, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a speech justifying Ukraine's invasion saying: "The death of every soldier and officer is painful for us," he said, pledging to do "everything" to help bereaved families, according to the BBC.
