Wildfires Erupt in Syria, Lebanon and Israel

Published October 11th, 2020 - 06:08 GMT

Several wildfires suddenly separately erupted in Syria, Lebanon and Israel due to the long heatwave the region is experiencing.

In Syria the state media revealed the massive forest fires this week killed two people and burned swaths of land.

Lebanese firefighters have tried to put out the fires raging across Mount Lebanon and along its border with Israel. The Lebanese Civil Defense announced rising temperatures and high wind speeds were contributing to the spread of the fires.

Meanwhile, thousands of people were forced to flee their homes on Friday in Israel due to the mass wild fires that broke out across the country. However, they were allowed to return on Saturday morning.
