Arsenal vs Marseille: Champions League projected lineups and match preview

Published November 26th, 2013 - 01:55 GMT

Arsenal maintained their strong form in the English Premier League over the weekend as their 2-0 victory over Southampton saw them increase their lead at the top of the table to four points.

The Gunners now will look to try and repeat that feat when French side Marseille come to the Emirates Tuesday evening.

With the English side tied at the top of Group F with Napoli and Marseille already mathematically eliminated from the knockout round, the French side have only a chance at heading to the Europa League to hope for.

However, they still hold the key to Arsenal's move to the next round as a loss to Marseille could greatly hinder their chances of a knockout stage berth.

Arsenal are slowly getting back to full fitness as Theo Walcott has returned and is likely to make a second half substitute appearance and Mathieu Flamini will return to the first team after sitting out over the weekend due to a suspension in English football.

Marseille will miss Andre Ayew whom has been their top performer in Europe by far this campaign and are not favored in the match as they will likely be more concerned with their weekend fixture in Ligue as the club currently sit third in France.

Arsenal XI: Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Flamini, Ramsey; Rosicky, Ozil, Cazorla; Giroud.

Marseille XI: Mandanda; Abdallah, N'Koulou, Diawara, Mendy; Romao, Imbula; Thauvin, Valbuena, J. Ayew; Gignac.
