Arsenal are set to go head-to-head with Chelsea in the race to sign highly-rated Deportivo La Coruña winger Yeremay Hernández during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old Spanish talent has been making waves in Spain’s second division, having joined Deportivo from Real Madrid’s youth system in 2017. Over the years, he has established himself as a key figure in the first team, attracting interest from several top European clubs.
Impressive Form Catches Premier League Attention
Yeremay has been in outstanding form this season, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 23 appearances. His performances have turned heads across Europe, with Chelsea making a move for him in the January transfer window.
The Blues reportedly submitted a €15 million (£12.6 million) bid, intending to loan him to Strasbourg, their affiliated club in France. However, Deportivo were unwilling to sell mid-season unless a club triggered his €20 million (£17 million) release clause.
Arsenal Enter the Race for Yeremay
According to reports, Chelsea are still monitoring the situation closely ahead of the summer transfer window, but they now face stiff competition from Arsenal, who have emerged as a serious contender for the Spanish winger’s signature.
Both clubs believe Yeremay possesses the skill set and tactical intelligence to fit into the playing styles of Mikel Arteta at Arsenal and Enzo Maresca at Chelsea.
