With their eyes set on defending their Champions League crown and claiming domestic success in Spain, Real Madrid began their pre-season preparations on Friday.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale were the most notable absentees as Zinedine Zidane welcomed his players back to Real Madrid City.
Portugal captain Ronaldo is recovering from an injury he picked up as the Seleccao went on to lift the Euro 2016 title, while Bale is on an extended break following his journey to the final four with Wales, where they were beaten to a spot in the final by the eventual winners.
However, coach Zinedine Zidane had Karim Benzema back at the club, with the 28-year-old missing out on a spot in France's squad for the tournament.
Meanwhile, the likes of Raphael Varane, Dani Carvajal, Keylor Navas, Isco and Mateo Kovacic were all present to begin work ahead of Saturday's journey to Montreal for their pre-season tour.
The players were welcomed back to Real Madrid City by president Florentino Perez and received medical check-ups before having a meeting with the coach.
Los Blancos will take on Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup this summer before they get down to competitive business against Europa League winners Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup on August 9.
Madrid have also announced the full squad of players who will travel to Canada for their upcoming tour.
