British PM Cameron hails Murray's historic Wimbledon victory

British Prime Minister David Cameron hailed Andy Murray as the Briton beat Novak Djokovic 6-4 7-5 6-4 to win the Wimbleon men's singles title.

Murray wiped out 77 years of pain when he became the first British man since 1936 to win the men's title with a stunning victory over world number one Djokovic.

Cameron was sitting in the Royal box alongside Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond.

The achievement completed a remarkable 11-month run for Murray who is now the reigning Olympic, U.S. Open and Wimbledon champion.
