Starting today and for a limited time, Careem users in Cairo and Alexandria can exchange their non-Egyptian football T-shirts for a T-shirt of the national team, the Pharaohs.

Careem, the region’s leading app-based car booking service, has partnered with Coca Cola to support their “Your T-shirt, your flag” campaign.

The aim of the campaign is to promote Egyptians’ sense of belonging through football as they hope to be part of 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“At Careem, supporting our fellow Egyptians in their pursuit of excellence is something near and dear to us,” said Wael Fakharany, Managing Director, Egypt, and Senior Vice President, Government Relations at Careem.

“We’re proud of our collaboration with Coca Cola to help encourage football fans across the country to spread the love and cheer on our national football team as they strive to secure a place in the 2018 World Cup.”

Starting Thursday, Dec. 22 for a very limited time, select Careem economy cars will be stocked with national football team t-shirts.

Economy customers can simply ask the Captain if the t-shirts are available and if they are, the customer can swap an old t-shirt for an Egyptian National Football team t-shirt.

From famous football clubs to street games, whether watching from the stands or the sidewalk, almost every Egyptian loves football.

Egypt has appeared in two FIFA World Cups and they are the most successful team in the Africa Cup of Nations, winning the competition seven times, most recently at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.
