In a major development, Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti has officially signed his contract to become the new head coach of the Brazil national team.

The Real Madrid manager will leave the club at the end of the current La Liga season, with his final game scheduled for May 25 against Real Sociedad.

Ancelotti will begin his new job with Brazil immediately after, and is expected to take charge on the touchline in early June.

Deal finalized, coaching staff selected

Romano reports that all documents are in place, and Ancelotti’s coaching staff has also been decided. The move marks a significant shift in the Italian’s legendary career, as he prepares to take over one of the most prestigious roles in international football.

Real Madrid are reportedly planning a special farewell to honor the 65-year-old coach and his contributions across two successful spells at the club.

Ancelotti’s Brazil move..years in the making

Talks linking Ancelotti to the Brazilian national team date back to late 2022, following the Selecao’s disappointing World Cup exit and the subsequent departure of former manager Tite. Despite Brazil appointing Dorival Junior in the interim, a string of poor results led the CBF to reignite their pursuit of Ancelotti.

A respectful goodbye and a new beginning

Although Real Madrid will finish the season without a league title following their 4-3 loss to Barcelona, the club plans to give Ancelotti a farewell that reflects his legacy. Under his leadership, Los Blancos secured trophies including La Liga, the Champions League, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup.

With Ancelotti's exit now official, Xabi Alonso is set to become Real Madrid’s next manager. The former midfielder has reportedly reached a full agreement with the club to take over this summer, beginning a new era at the Santiago Bernabéu.
