The agreement (which is for a three-year term) also includes plans to expand Copa Coca-Cola, a youth football tournament, which has seen the participation of thousands of teens from the sultanate since 2012.
OFA chairman, Sayyid Khalid al Busaidi, said, “We are very excited about this announcement to bring Coca-Cola into a partnership with OFA. They are a global brand that supports football all over the world, and it is great for OFA to have such a partner as it shows the progress we have made as an association. We are looking forward to working with them on a number of initiatives.”
Coca-Cola’s collaboration with OFA follows a long history of supporting initiatives that fuel the passion for football in the sultanate. Since 2012, thousands of teens (aged 13-15 years) were offered the opportunity to participate in Copa Coca-Cola, allowing them to play and learn from professionals in the game. In February, five top qualifiers were selected to represent Oman in the Copa Coca-Cola International Camp held in Paris.
