The Iranian men’s national football team is scheduled to play a friendly against the Macedonian outfit in early June as part of preparations for the next round of the AFC matches for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification.

President of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI), Ali Kafashian, announced on Saturday that the fixture will be staged on June 2 and in Austria following a request by the Football Federation of Macedonia.

Iran’s national soccer team will take on Norway in a friendly match in Oslo on June 7.

On November 17, an understaffed Iranian soccer team put on a sparkling performance in a FIFA World Cup qualifier, conquering the Guam side with an easy six-goal margin.

The Iranian outfit, which was missing some players and staffers because of visa issues, brushed aside the hosts 6-0 in its fifth Group D qualifier for the prestigious international association soccer competition at the Guam Football Association Field in Dededo.

The win lifted the points of the unbeaten Iranian men’s national soccer team to 14, and landed it at the top of the Group D standings. Iran will face off with India on March 24, 2016.
