Kuwait's Permanent delegate to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Dr. Meshaal Hayyat announced Wednesday election of a Kuwaiti national as a member of the Approval Committee of the UNESCO Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sports.

Ahmad Al-Khazaal, deputy director general of Kuwait's Public Authority for Sports, was elected member of the Approval Committee as a representative of the Arab region, Hayyat said in statements to KUNA.

He added that the Conference of the Parties has elected Al-Khazaal for the fourth time to represent the Arab region due to his outstanding international experience in this domain.

The Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport was established in 2008 to assist States Parties to the International Convention against Doping in Sport to develop and implement anti-doping projects.
