A two goal victory over Bournemouth at the weekend saw the Reds through to the next round of the FA Cup but it was not a performance that they club would have gotten past the Toffees with in most cases.
The last meeting between the two sides proved to be one of the best of the season as they battled to a three all contest and Liverpool will hope to get one over on their rivals at home and start to push back up the table to get some space opened up between them in fourth and the closing competition.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez is expected to unleash his newest weapons in Aiden McGeady and potentially Lacina Traore as injuries have changed up his first team as of late.
Both sides are dealing with multiple injuries in almost all parts of the squad and it could be a great showing of just who wants to impress the most.
The defenses are expected to be tested for both sides and Liverpool's ever thining back line will be under even more pressure without Lucas Leiva.
Everton's loss of Ross Barkley could greatly change how the Toffee's attacking midfield makes a difference in the match.
With Jon Flannagan returning, Brendan Rodgers could opt for Martin Kelly on the right and Flannagan on the left, but likely Aly Cissokho will still get the nod despite showing that he is not the most reliable left back the club have seen in recent years.
It will be an interesting match to say the least and should be thoroughly entertaining.
