Riyad Mahrez has revealed how he borrowed a bike in order to escape a trial at St Mirren! The Algerian was recently named PFA Player of the Year following a stunning campaign with Leicester City, who could secure the title with a victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Mahrez joined Leicester in a £400,000 deal from Le Havre in 2014, but the winger, who has scored 17 goals and registered 11 assists in the Premier League this season, has admitted he struggled to adjust to the snowy conditions in Scotland.
“It was physical and it was cold. We trained in the snow! I felt that I progressed, I wasn’t allowed to go so I left in secret,” Mahrez told L’Equipe.
“I borrowed a bike so I could get my things I had left at the training ground, before catching a train to the airport and going home.”
