Manchester United have been club that many have called great under achievers this season and out of the club's frustrations has also come the frustration of the players in the side.

Speaking out ahead of the club's match with Fulham at the weekend, Japanese international midfielder, Shinji Kagawa has expressed his on irritation at his poor showing this campaign in an interview quoted by ESPNFC:

"I still haven't scored any goals this season so I've felt very irritated.

This is the first time in my career that I haven't been able to produce so it's disappointing.”

Having scored 29 times during his 71 match career in Germany with Borussia Dortmund, Kagawa is accustomed to making a difference by hitting the back of the net.

However, with only six goals in 44 appearances for United, including a 15 game non-scoring streak this campaign, he is starting to come unglued with himself:

"I pressure myself to score in every game but some days it feels like I just can't win. I know I have to overcome that.

Actually, if I can't it really shows that I haven't grown as a player. So because of that I have to really focus on the second half of the season and overcome that mental block."

The arrival of Juan Mata is certain to have strengthened the resolve of Kagawa to make an impression the next time he gets a chance.

His place at the club has continued to come into question over the last few months and if he fails to impress in the remainder of the campaign he could be one of the first out of the door during an impending summer clear out by David Moyes.
