Reports from the Daily Star this morning claim that both Liverpool and Manchester United are chasing FC Barcelona and Chilean international winger, Alexis Sanchez.
Having risen to prominence in the Italian Serie A with Udinese, his move to Barcelona several summers ago at first looked as though it was not going to work out.
However, having battled to earn his place within the first team, Sanchez was a major part of the club's strong campaign, although underachieving by Barca standards, and has seen his stock rise yet again.
Liverpool are looking to add some more natural width in their attack in a summer that many believe that they should be working on making their back line a bit better rather than spending on new attacking options.
Manchester United on the other hand need a revamp all over the pitch and Louis Van Gaal is believed to have singled out Sanchez as one of his primary targets this summer.
The new Reds' manager is certain to have people keeping an eye on Sanchez at the World Cup this summer and it is likely that a strong summer with Chile at the World Cup Finals could see Sanchez garner even more praise and attention around Europe.
