With the Mubadala World Tennis Championship taking place this weekend, the Abu Dhabi community and the world’s top tennis stars are preparing for three days of world class sport and off-court excitement.

The final touches are now being put to the Tennis Village, which opens to the public at 11.30am each day of the competition from Thursday to Saturday.

While tennis stars Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Feliciano Lopez and Nicolas Almagro are set to light up the court, fans are also looking forward the flurry of off-court activities that offer once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to get up close and personal with the players.

Starting at 2pm on Thursday, the Tennis Village will host ‘Kids’ Day’ to encourage budding young tennis stars who are passionate about the sport. The highlight will be a Q & A session with Lopez, which is free to attend.

Winners of the annual Mubadala Community Cup will also be in action throughout the day as the tennis stars put them through their paces in exclusive coaching clinics, which get underway at noon each day.

There will also be plenty of opportunities for older fans to soak up the buzz of the tournament when the top two players in the world, Nadal and Djokovic, make appearances for autograph sessions in the Tennis Village between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on day one.

There will also be a live entertainment stage, family picnic area and Mubadala Interactive Zone. Tournament ambassador and former Wimbledon Champion Pat Cash will also spend time in the village meeting fans.
