Manchester City's runners-up finish in the English Premier League (EPL) does not represent failure, said its defiant coach Manuel Pellegrini over the weekend.

Manchester City is guaranteed a second place finish behind champions Chelsea whatever their result at home against Southampton today, reports Sports24.

Pellegrini also that with UEFA planning to relaxing Financial Fair Play regulations, he believed the new developments will help his club to be at the top of the English game for years to come.

He said that he was glad UEFA is reviewing FFP.

Pellegrini said that he expects to retain his job when the next season kicks off and rubbished critics labeling him and the club's 2014-15 season as a disaster.
