Manchester City football team manager Manuel Pellegrini is of the opinion that his side would eventually win the Champions League.

The Chilean manager has revealed that City's owner Sheikh Mansour's grand plan is to build a club that would challenge the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich for the Champions League every year.

City will face Roma at the Etihad stadium in Tuesday night's vital clash, aiming to improve on last season, when they qualified for the knockout stages for the first time only to lose to Barcelona in the last 16, The Mirror reported.

But Pellegrini feels it is only a matter of time before they crack Europe. He said that he is absolutely sure that City would eventually win the Champions League.

Pellegrini said that if is of course the most important title to win, but added that when it happens it would not mean that this project is finished. He said that City don't just want to win the Champions League once.

The Chilean said that the owners are aiming to become one of those clubs that believes they can win it every year, and added that that means reaching the final or the semi-final regularly and also winning trophies like the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Capital One Cup.

Pellegrini said that they have won the title twice in three years and were also runners-up. He said that City has also won the Capital One Cup and the FA Cup, so in domestic competitions they are doing as well as any other team.

But, he added that if one wants to be a really big team one must be involved in all competitions in Europe and in England.

Pellegrini added that it is not the death of the club if they don't win the Champions League this year. But, he said that he hopes that this year they improve again, as for him, a successful season is always about doing better than last year.
