QFA President Receives Italian Ambassador

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of Qatar Football Association, on Saturday received in his office HE Alessandro Prunas, Italian Ambassador to the State of Qatar.

The meeting was attended by Mansoor Al Ansari, Secretary-General of the QFA, and Ali Dawood, Executive Director of the President’s Office.

The meeting included discussions on matters of common interest. The QFA President noted the existing relations between the Qatar’s and the Italian federations are paving the way for future cooperation.

During the meeting, the two talked about finding ways to develop football relations since Qatar is preparing to stage the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Italian ambassador praised Qatar’s urgent and timely measures to protect the health of citizens and residents alike in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ambassador Prunas praised the level of relations between the two countries, saying that they are strong and time-tested.

He said the countries will continue to develop a comprehensive strategic partnership in many sectors, especially sports.

The two also exchanged memorial shields. The QFA President presented the official jersey of Qatar national team to the Italian Ambassador.
