The Palestinian national football team, al-Fidaee, is set to play his last friendly games this Friday and next week before starting the Asian Football Confederation’s 2019 Asia Cup tournament in the United Arab Emirates, which will kick off on January 5 until February 1.
Al-Fidaee is going to play Iraq on Friday and then Kyrgyzstan on Monday - its last two friendly games as the team continues practice at its camp in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The Palestinian team has already played friendly games against Iran and China, which ended in a draw with one goal each in both games, and twice defeated Pakistan 2 to 1 and 2 to 0.
The team’s coach, Noor Eddin Ali, has already decided on the final composition of the team, which is going to include 23 players.
The team was selected to play in Group B, which includes the title holder Australia, along with Jordan and Syria. The first game will be played on January 6 against Syria, to be followed by games against Australia and then Jordan.
Team player Mohammad Darwish said that he was looking forward to pleasing the fans and to do well in the Asia games.
He said the players are living a high degree of concentration and they are doing all they can to prepare for the games at their training camp in Doha, adding that in spite of the fact that they are going to play against tough opponents, yet they are determined to pass the first stage and go to the next one.
