The General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare (GAYSW) and the Bahrain Ministry of Youth and Sports, signed a schedule of agreement for 2016 to 2018 to activate an MoU that was signed by the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2007, as implemented by the joint supreme commission’s resolution.

The agreement was signed by Ibrahim Abdul Malik , Secretary-General of the GAYSW, and Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, Bahrain Minister of Youth and Sports, in the presence of a number of Emirati and Bahraini sports officials.

The renewal of the agreement confirms the strong ties between both countries and responds to their aspirations and mutual desire to strengthen these ties. It also reflects their faith in the role of youth in developing relations between peoples, said Ibrahim Mohamed.

The agreement focusses on mutual visits between youth leaders from both countries, as well as organising visits from talented youth from both genders, in order to get to know both nation’s activities and programmes. It will also organise mutual invitations for environment service camps and others participating in youth actualities, he added.

The Bahrain Minister for Youth and Sports praised the hospitality and generosity that his delegation received during their visit to the UAE, as well as the exceptional ties between both countries that contributed to the renewal of these agreements.

He stated that the UAE experience in youth and sports, as well as the partnership between both countries, sets an example for the rest of the world to follow.

The agreement is considered to be a part of the authority’s strategic goals that were derived from the directives of the UAE leadership, to strengthen and develop ties with other Gulf countries by investing in youth capabilities, promoting youth programmes and creating promising young leaders that are capable of continuing the nation’s development and prosperity.
