Switzerland v France: Predicted lineups

Published June 20th, 2014 - 04:43 GMT

The Swiss and the French both took opening day victories from their opponents and square off as the leaders of Group E. Both are in the best position to advance to the knockout stage despite what comes of the match.

France have the edge in the table due to their goal difference of three to Switzerland's one but it is all relative as this is set to be an exciting matchup on the day.

Switzerland have a young and exciting team that is peppered with bits of veteran leadership and ability while France have one of the more underrated sides full of European stars.

There are no injury worries for the Swiss but France will be potentially without Yohan Cabaye but there is a chance that he could be a late game time decision by Didier Deschamps.

Valon Behrami is believed set to feature from the first whistle alongside of Napoli's Gokhan Inler with youngsters Xherdan Shaqiri and Josip Drmic are the young attackers to watch as their pace a creativity could see them surprise the French back line.

Karim Benzema was a one man goal scoring machine in the opening round of fixtures and he is expected to keep Olivier Giroud out of the first team yet again and he will hope that he can continue his fine form and help France to another three points.

Certainly set to be the best match of the day, unless Costa Rica and Italy really make a game of it earlier in the day, this will definitely be one to watch.
