This Muslim holiday Eid Al Adha was noted to be the worst season for live performances in Lebanon due to the instability of the political and security situation. During this holiday only two grand performances were held.
The first performance was by prominent Lebanese singers Najwa Karam and Milhim Barakat at the Regency Palace hotel in Beirut. The second performance was by Lebanese singers Haifa Wahbi and Fares Karam. Haifa’s performance was held at the Movenpick hotel in Beirut.
According to the London based Elaph, it is expected that the situation in Lebanon will also affect performances during the upcoming New Years Eve. Until this point no artist has announced a scheduled performance. In the past, singers competed eagerly at advertising their concerts and trying to attract as many fans as possible.
Haifa’s and Fares’s performance had attracted wide media coverage and was attended by large crowds, who had come from around the Arab world. Haifa had launched the concert by singing a collection of her most popular hits. The concert was held on the first day of Eid Al Adha and on the second day, Haifa headed to Egypt where she held another performance in Cairo that was attended by over 3000 fans.
