Egyptian folklore singer Shabaan Abd Al Rahim, who is in mourning, said that the support of his Christian friends and neighbors during the death of his grandchild made him realize the importance of national unity in Egypt. Shabaan’s grandchild, who was one and half years old, passed away on January 6.
In light of the tragic incident to Shabaan’s family and the recent terror attack on the Qidiseen Church in Cairo Egypt that killed over 20 and injured more than 75 people, the singer decided to release a new song dedicated to Coptic Christians in Egypt to show his support. Shabaan stressed that since the beginning of time Egyptians were always united despite their beliefs. He added Christians and Muslims had always lived side by side without any problems and been the best of friends and the terror attacks are condemned by every citizen.
Shabaan stated that the new song he released despite his grief calls for Egyptian unity called “Christmas Eve” and he hopes that the song will show his Christian brothers that there is still good in Egypt and what happened is unacceptable by all.
