Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakhirji have begun filming the scenes for the new Syrian television drama Wiladah Min Al Khasirah” (Birth from the waist) that is director Rasha Sharbatji and writer Samer Radwan.
According to the London based Elaph, in the drama, Sulaf will costar alongside a number of prominent Syrian actors like Qusai Khouly, Abid Fahid, Saloum Haddad, Safa Sultan, Mohammad Hadaqi, Shukran Murtaja, Abd Al Hadi Sabagh, Maha Al Masri, Sulafah Mi’mar, Nahed Halabi and others
Sulaf will play the role of a poet named “Samahir”. The drama will mark Sulaf’s return to Syrian cinema after a long absence due to her occupation with Egyptian dramas and films.
On a different note, Sulaf is also filming the scenes of the new television drama “Fi Hadrat Al Gha’eb” (In the presence of the missing) that is directed by prominent Syrian director Najdat Anzour and written by Hassan Yousif. The drama tells the story of the life of the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darweesh. In the drama, Sulaf plays the role of one of Mahmoud’s mistresses, which Mahmoud had written one of his most famous poets about. The same poem was sung by Lebanese singer Marcel Khalifah.
