Egyptian actress Summaya Al Khashab has declined to accept a role in the new television drama “Shafiqa and Mitwali” due to the problems that erupted between her and the production company over the salary she stipulated.
The drama “Shafiqa and Mitwali” holds the same title as the film that starred theate legendary Egyptian Suad Husni and Ahmad Zaki in the late 1970’s.
The drama would have marked Summaya’s return to the small screen after a 2-year absence.
Summaya was also to star in a television drama this past Ramadan season, however, the drama was cancelled for unknown reasons.
