For almost 150 years (the house celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2012), the craft of Tabbah has been passed from father to son. Today it is a family owned business run by Nabil Tabbah and Nagib Tabbah, respectively 4th and 5th generation. The Tabbah philosophy is dedicated to producing unique, inspirational works of art that reflect the blending of European and Oriental influences matched with some of the world’s most sought after precious stones.
Tabbah is one of the few jewellery houses controlling the whole jewellery production process in-house. Instead of outsourcing, they train and employ craftsmen who all share a view that each piece they are creating is a unique work of art. In the 1980s Nabil Tabbah became known as one of the world’s most respected buyers of important stones, a position that saw him acquire many prestigious and historical diamonds including amongst many others “The Zale Light of Peace”, “The Red Cross”, “The Jonker”, “The Ashberg” and “The Blue Lily”.
The Tabbah name has risen to prominence through word of mouth by loyal patrons and jewellery connoisseurs and become one of the most coveted jewellery brands with signed Tabbah pieces now greatly sought after by collectors throughout the world. Highly collectable pieces include the 1970s Phoenicia line, the Saga watch, first launched in the 1988, and any of the bespoke pieces crafted as part of Collection Privee.
