Travelport hosts annual conference for Middle East distribution partners

Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, hosted its annual Middle East distributor’s conference last week, when the company shared its vision and strategy for the future with its distribution partners from across the region.
Held this year in Dubai, Travelport’s Middle East & Africa headquarters, the three-day forum enabled the global distribution system (GDS) provider to share valuable knowledge and best practices with its Middle East distributors and operators, who form a key part of the company’s Galileo and Worldspan network in the region.
“The future is exciting for Travelport and we have ambitious plans ahead for our GDS business at both a global and regional level. It is more important than ever that we get the buy-in of our partners so that we can chart a path together toward long-term success,” said Jennifer D’Souza, Regional Commercial Director, Travelport.
Awards were also handed out at the gathering to recognize the exceptional market achievements of several distributors, including Galileo Syria, Travelport-Lebanon, Galileo Kuwait, Galileo Jordan and Galileo Pakistan, who was also given a special ‘WOW’ award for its remarkable volunteer efforts last year during the country’s flood disaster.
Travelport boasts a robust network of Galileo and Worldspan distributors across the Middle East, including a recently-appointed Galileo distributor in Iraq. Each has in-depth local expertise, along with extensive technology and support capabilities to meet the needs of travel agents in each market.
