Travelport Mobi launches in the Middle East
Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, today launched Travelport Mobi, an innovative mobile travel booking solution, to its customers in the Middle East.
Now available to Travelport subscribers across the region, the useful tool will enable the local travel trade to offer their clients 24-hour access to Travelport’s GDS content via their mobile phones and handheld devices.
With Travelport Mobi, travellers are able to book and pay for flight, car and hotel bookings around the clock, as well as view travel itineraries on smartphones. The secure payment gateway functionality also ensures that bookings are instantly processed.
Significantly for the travel trade, bookings are automatically generated into the travel agent’s normal workflow procedures to enable full reporting and maintain full mid and back office integration.
Rabih Saab, Travelport’s president and managing director for the Middle East and Africa, says mobile bookings provide travellers with new levels of convenience:
“Travelport Mobi is a compelling product that allows travel agents to embrace the latest in mobile technology to offer an exceptional standard of service to clients,” he said. “We are delighted to bring this solution to the Middle East in order to meet the discerning needs of today’s busy traveller.”
Travelport has partnered with South-African based IT company Real Time Travel Connections (RTTC) in the development of this ground-breaking mobile booking solution, which was initially launched in South Africa.
