This month, Banyan Tree Al Wadi tops the “10 Unique Luxury Hotels You’ll Never Forget” on TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website. This follows the Certificate of Excellence awarded by TripAdvisor to Banyan Tree Al Wadi two months ago, an honour based on the website’s Business Popularity Index which records over 45 million reviews and opinions from 89,000 cities worldwide.

At the 2011 World Travel Awards in May, Banyan Tree Al Wadi was also named Ras Al Khaimah’s leading resort, the Middle East’s leading villa resort as well as the UAE’s leading villa resort. Commenting on these recent wins, Pascal Eppink, General Manager Banyan Tree Al Wadi said, “We are privileged to be selected for Tripadvisor’s lists. It is a testimony of Banyan Tree’s strong brand recognition and service quality, as well as the result of our core focus on providing unusual and customised hospitality experiences for guests in Banyan Tree’s first integrated desert and beach resort in UAE.

“The hotel is unique in many ways and my favourite features are all the wildlife, our Rainforest hydrothermal circuit in Banyan Tree Spa and our beautiful natural settings. In the future, we have also lined up a communal pool and Villa Host service to ensure that guests continue to create treasured memories for life.”

Banyan Tree Al Wadi offers city dwellers a unique retreat within its own nature reserve – 60 hectares dedicated to local desert wildlife such as Arabian gazelles and oryxes, giving guests an opportunity to interact with and observe these gentle creatures up close. All 101 villas offer a tranquil view of the desert oasis for quiet contemplation, while the external area of each villa features a private pool.

The integrated resort is complete with 3,960 sqm of Asian-inspired hydrotherapy spa facilities, exciting outdoor adventures, beach access and an 18-hole championship golf course amidst miles of rolling sand dunes, creating a comfortably seamless experience of staying in the desert. Eco-explorers can seek adventure in activities such as falconry, camel riding, wadi (desert) drives, or simply meander along rivers on a dhow (traditional Arabic sailing vessel with lateen sails) for an unforgettable cruise.
